What kind of people wake up at 5:30am just to chase golden hour along the coast with me? THESE LEGENDS. After a quick caffeine fix via Macca’s drive thru, we were ready to hit the road. Winding through layered hills and vast farmland, the sky spitting droplets of heavy rain onto the windshield, we seemed to be the only ones in existence on the black stretch ahead. The sun was just rising as we pulled up to shoreline at Second Valley. As we stepped out from the car, the sound of waves crashing filled the air. It was chilly, the wind whirling around us, sending skirts and hair in every direction. Instantly I noticed the beach was completely underwater, the high tide sent waves sweeping violently over the only path to our planned location in the gorgeous hills above. Fortunately, these two (who are the most laid back couple I’ve met) shrugged, laughed, and proceeded to have the best time ever. It was such a blast getting to know these fun-loving souls and it was yet another reminder that sometimes when plans fall through, embracing the spontaneity in life can be even better.
